Post 10, English Language Challenges

Hi readers Today is the last blog, so like every last time in almost everything, you have to do a count about the experience. Learning english in college has been important to me, because even when I considerer myself good at this, there's things that you forget with the years as the impossibility of practice often, and I think that practice is the most important thing when you want to learn a new language. The use of blogs is an interesting tool, because is the opportunity of develop our thoughts and try to write with some sense of drafting, put in order the ideas and find the right words without go around like when we talk, on the other hand, allows to practice our grammar skills. I believe that I need to improve my grammar, because many times don't know how to write a word, it's not a big problem and the solution I think is just practice, maybe I could buy some books in english to read in the summer, so besides to help in this aspect, I could improve my rea...

Post 8: Changes to my Study Programme

Hi everyone ! Today is the turn of a special topic, because is the opportunity to talk about everything we believe must be change in our art school.  First to all, in my particular case as a Theory and Art History student, I think the problems start with the study programme, because don't allow the choice between Aesthetics and Art History, for the first courses I believe is fine learn about both, but when you decide your interest field, the other turns very boring, and you feel your learning is stuck. Then in my opinion, we have other problem in direct relationship with the above, which is the subjects of the different courses, much of them based in foreign studies and not in locals, this is very important to understand as a problem because we are not developing new knowledge based in our latin american reality, just repeating the north american or european way. Secondly we have the issues with the faculty facilities of the school, which is very precarious, like ...

Imagen
Hi readers! Today is the turn of a special topic, because is for the one's who really love books, if you read the other entrance, about my favourite movie, then you could guess that is "The Lord of the rings", but i don't want to talk about it because i already did; besides, this book is fantastic. So, for this reason, i'm going to talk about my second favourite book, "Perfume: The story of a Murderer" by Patrick Süskind. This book is a famous novel published in 1985, and immediately becomes a bestseller, but a really good best seller, not like; for example, "The fifty shades of Grey". This history will take you away to the France of the XVIII century. A weird man call Jean Baptiste Grenuille has an incredible powerful sense of smell, that drives him crazy and obsessive. In his travel to find and create the perfect odor, he would do anything, even kill. This book has the power of the expectation, you start reading this novel ...

Imagen
Hello everyone ! Today I'm going to talk about a special topic for me, because this is my last year in the undergraduate programme and I been thinking on this a lot !. After considerer every single career in this university (engineering or similar the first eliminated because of my poor skills in maths) in undergraduate or postgraduated. I couldn't found nothing that really likes me, so I start to look in another universities and suddenly found a master which program was very interesting, the "Estéticas americanas" (american aesthetics) master degree in the Catholic Univeristy include many of the themes that I'm interested to work. This master is a two year programme, It has had an objective train researches in the field of the american cultures, past and present, to increase the studies about the different symbolic systems existing in America. My interest in this field, comes, in my opinion, from the insufficient presence of this topics during th...

Post 5: My future job

Imagen
Hello readers ! Today I will talk about my future job, but I think is more like a dream job, because in the world of arts, get a job is not a simple thing. (like the expression: for the love of art) Well, my future job would be in the field of heritage studies, may be in some institution like the future ministery of culture, or a university. My main interest in this field is principaly because I belive that in Chile people don't know much about our history and has a consecuence we unknow his value and destroy it, or even worse, forgot it. So this work would have a very close contac to pleople to expand the learning of our traditions, our art (present and past), our comun history. This job of course will require travel a lot, but inside Chile, because, if we want to conect traditions in a large country like this, we have to go to diferent places, see and share with people that is so distant like the north and south.  The money never has been an important assue, not ...

Post 3: ¿Whats your favourite movie or Tv show?

Imagen
Hi everyone, today I'm going to talk about my favourite movie, because Tv shows don't like me very much. This movie is a classic of the fantasy gender, is made it from a famous book of the 60's, called "The Lord of the Rings" of J.J.R Tolkien. If you don't know much more about this movie, keep calm and let me continue talking. The Lord of the Rings it was recorded in 1999 in the beautiful landscapes of New Zealand, the homeland of his director, Peter Jackson, and is a trilogy just like the books, the first called "The Fellowship of the Ring" (2001), "The Two Towers"(2002) and "The Return of the King" (2003).  The movie shows the history about the Middle Earth, especially the war of the ring, that is basically the fight between the good and evil, based in the value of friendship, the courage and the persistance in a comun cause, that is of course defeat the villain by destroying the ring.   I really love this movi...

Blog 1: A country i would like to visit

Imagen
Hi Everyone! Today I'm going to talk about a country I would like to visit. This country is very forgotten for the "Wanderlust" Millenials people, and thank God for that ! This place is Guatemala, a Central America country, it's has so much history, landscapes and tradicional culture, very diferent from Chile, so is insteresting for me to go there. I really don't know much about this country, but i think that is the point of travel, i want to get there(Someday)and start to discover for myself, not to research so much because i like the idea of the old fashioned travels, with this kind of mistery of the unknown places. Guatemala has one of the most interesting Maya's centers call "Tikal" placed in some part of the jungle, re discovered in the XIX century. Other thing that I like of Guatemala is the beatiful embroidery tradition of her women, all learn how to make is own clothes, and they represent the incredible flora of...
